If you've ever bought a home, you know that sometimes a person's personal touches may impact your feelings about the home. Also, with the surge in use of technology to market a home, professionally done pictures can make or break you. In fact home buyers cite pictures as the most important feature on any real estate site, and over 93% start their search for a home online.
Additionally, homes that are professionally photographed sell 32% faster than other listings, and may sell for more per square foot compared to a home without professional pictures. So, how do you prepare for your home to be photographed? Here is a quick checklist of must do items:
Remove and store most personal items, to include some family photos
De-clutter all counter tops in the bathroom(s) and kitchen, toys, and bedroom dressers
Open window treatments to allow for more natural light
Close toilet lids
Clean mirrors
Replace broken light bulbs
Freshen up your yard with fresh mulch, trimmed bushes, and new flowers.
Hide pet feeding bowls and containers.
Remove all body washes, shampoos and soaps from the bathroom tub.
Make all the beds
Dust and vacuum
